Cape Kinau (Molokini side-trip)
After the Molokini dive we motored to the
southwest Maui shore, near Le Perouse
Bay where lava flowed into the sea during
the 1790 Hale Akala eruption.  The
outcrop is about 60-feet high. Note the
crashing wave spray.
The Pacific swell crashes into Cape Kinau
after traveling 1,000s of miles across the
Pacific Ocean. This break is greater than
20-feet.
Backside of Hale Akala, the Kipahulu Forest
Reserve, one of the wettest places in
America.
