40-minute integrated exposure (300s subexposures) of The Great Carina Nebula captured
from Siding Spring Observatory, NSW Australia 3 March 2015 using Takahashi FSQ-106
and SBIG STL11000C. This spectacular diffuse nebula in the southern constellation Carina
is not well known to astronomers in the northern hemisphere despite being one of the
largest and brightest in the sky. For residents of Australia, this is their version of the Orion
Nebula, big and bright and filled with newborn stars. The Eta Carinae Nebula (NGC 3372)
is our times larger than the Orion Nebula. This object was discovered by Abbé Nicolas
Louis de Lacaille in 1751.
The supermassive star at the center of the nebula, Eta Carinae, has torn assunder the
molecular clouds that created this rich star-forming region. Eta Carinae itself is one of the
most massive and luminous stars known, about 10 times as hot, and 100 times as massive,
as our Sun.
This area contains eight open clusters including; Collinder (Cr) 228, , Cr 230, Cr 231, Cr
232,Cr 233, Cr 234, Bochum (Bo) 10 and Bo 11(c)2015 Corneau
Omega Centauri globular cluster (NGC5139) captured
remotely through Tzec Maun Foundation Takahashi FSQ-106,
SBIG STL-11000 on Paramount ME on 5 March 2015  at
Siding Spring Observatory New South Wales, Australia. Total
exposure 50-min (10x300s subexposures). Aligned and
combined using MaxIM DL with post-processing in

Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas Dark Site on 7
May 2016 using the hybrid technique through AT-130
refractor with QSI-583 camera (set at -20 deg C) for

Captured simultaneously using 10 x 300second
sub-exposures for 100 minutes total exposure time.

Sharpless 2-188, The Dolphin Nebula in Cassiopeia. The
image is of Sharpless 2-188 (Sh2-188), an unusual
planetary nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia
captured from my driveway in north Texas from 4
Oct-21 Oct 2016. The image contains 8hrs of
narrowband data with Hydrogen Alpha as Luminance
2:45 and Green :45,  Sulphur ii as Red and Oxygen-3 for
Blue, both for 2:15. Captured with Celestron XLT-11 on
EQ-6Pro mount, with QSI 583WSG using AstroDon
Gen II 5nm Ha/Sii/O3 filters, guided by Orion SSAG
using PHD.  Images captured, calibrated, aligned in
MaxIm DL6 Pro. Assembled and post-processed in
Photoshop CS2(c)2016 Corneau
